All People are Now Eligible for H1N1 Vaccine

Following Wisconsin Department of Health Services guidance, the Eau Claire City-County Health Dept. announced today that Eau Claire County healthcare providers offer H1N1 vaccination to all persons who wish to avoid the risk of H1N1 beginning Monday, December 14, 2009. The Eau Claire City-County Health Department has scheduled free H1N1 Flu Vaccination Clinics on these dates at the following locations:
  • Thursday, December 17th, 2:30 – 6:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 501 E. Fillmore Ave., Eau Claire
  • Thursday, January 7th, 4 – 6 p.m. at Augusta High School Cafeteria
For people unable to attend these clinics, the Health Department will also offer H1N1 vaccination by appointment:
  • Daytime and evening appointments are available.
  • Vaccination is free of charge.
  • Location - Eau Claire City-County Health Department, 720 Second Avenue, (Courthouse), Eau Claire, WI
  • Call 839-4718.

H1N1 flu vaccine (both shots and nasal spray) will be available. Children under 10 years old need two H1N1 flu vaccinations, 4 weeks apart.

Expansion of vaccination to the general public does not mean that all persons in the previously identified H1N1 risk groups have been vaccinated. The Health Department especially encourages vaccination for all who are:

  • Ages 6 months through 24 years
  • Family or caregivers of babies under age 6 months
