Beaches
Locally, the health department will consider closing an established beach location if the levels of E. coli exceed an EPA-established guideline and/or if the beach area received 3 inches or more of rainfall in one 24-hour period. Beaches are closed and reopened in cooperation with the City of Eau Claire Parks and Recreation Department and the Eau Claire County Parks & Forest Department.
The designated public beaches of Eau Claire County currently being tested by the Health Department are:
- Lake Altoona Beach
- Riverview Park
- Half Moon Beach
- Big Falls
- Eau Claire Lake Beach
- Coon Fork Lake (campground and picnic area)
- Wisconsin Beaches
- Notice: Please be advised that this website does not include all Wisconsin Beaches (including Eau Claire). Always contact a local jurisdiction to find out if swimming areas are safe and open for swimming.
