Health and Hazards in the Home

- If, upon investigation, living environments are unfit for human habitation or the structure/environment pose a threat to the occupants or public/visitors to the home, the health department may placard the home as unfit and require the occupants to find suitable living quarters until which time the living environment is healthy and safe for human occupancy.
- Conditions which may present unfit living conditions or dangerous to the public/visitors may include, but are not limited to:
- Damaged, decayed, dilapidated, insanitary, unsafe, or vermin-infested
- Lack of illumination (lighting), ventilation, heating, or sanitation facilities
- Insanitary conditions (e.g. garbage, trash, human waste)
- Placarding - Occupant Information
