The City of Eau Claire’s Smoking Prohibited Ordinance became effective July 1, 2008. The Environmental Health section took primary responsibility for the development and distribution of pre-implementation educational materials and information (handbook). The Environmental Health section worked collaboratively with the tobacco-free partnership to develop and distribute these materials.  Press releases and media interviews were also conducted to help inform the public about the ordinance and the availability of the handbook.
