The Elections Office is located in the First Floor Customer Service Area. The Elections Office is responsible for voter registration, absentee voting, establishing and preparing voting places, and assigning and training election officials.

The five at-large City Council seats will be up for Election in April 2010.
Eight candidates will be on the ballot. Election Day is April 6.

ELECTION OFFICIALS
The City of Eau Claire is always looking for citizens to work at the polls during elections. Election officials (poll workers) register new voters, give voters credit in the poll books those who vote, answer questions, hand out and explain ballots, and work with ballot counting equipment. Training sessions are held before each election. Currently, poll workers are paid $8.00/hour, including the training sessions. The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. A full day for most workers lasts from approximately 6:00 a.m to 10 p.m. Some poll workers do work half day shifts, either from opening to 2 p.m. or from 2 p.m. to closing.
