The Patrol Division assigns 1 Sergeant and up to 5 Officers to the Special Operations Section (S.O.S.), a plain-clothes Street Crime Unit.

• Their major focus is on quality of life issues in the community.
• The S.O.S. team provides a flexible response that can be moved to any area of the community as needed.
• These officers also assist the Detective Division with investigations and are the liaison to major neighborhood associations in the city.
