Police Officer, Eau Claire Police Department
February 14, 1954 - October 6, 1982

Police Officer Robert Paul Bolton, age 28, a four year veteran of the Eau Claire Police Department, was fatally wounded shortly after 2:00 AM, Wednesday October 6, 1982 in the performance of his duties.

As a permanent tribute to his memory, the following irrevocable directive is issued:

Be it hereby ordered through the powers
granted to this office that the badge
of officer Robert P. Bolton "#138" be
forever and permanently retired in honor of
his dedication and service beyond the
call of duty to the citizens of Eau Claire,
and to also stand as an example of his
courage and professionalism to all who serve.
