The Police Community Relations Officer is primarily responsible for handling media inquiries, managing the open cases and most wanted websites, coordinating department grants as well as implementing and maintaining law enforcement and safety related programs.  In addition, this position conducts background checks for City of Eau Claire license applications, attends recruiting events, photographs events, conducts parking ticket mediations, attends community events and provides presentations on a variety of topics including drug trends, identity theft and personal safety.

The community relations officer continues to be a flexible resource for the varied needs of the community, able to address questions or concerns as they arise as well as providing proactive efforts relating to community safety.

Relations / Crime Prevention Officer is responsible for implementing and maintaining law enforcement and safety related programs primarily designed for high school, college, adult, seniors, and business audiences.  These free presentations include:

  • Fraud Against the Elderly
  • Traffic Safety
  • Home Security
  • Domestic Violence
