As an Entitlement Community, designated by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the City of Eau Claire provides grant assistance for local projects through use of Community Development Block Grants (CDBG). Each year, organizations may apply for funding to implement activities that meet:

 

PUBLIC NOTICE 

The City of Eau Claire has prepared the 2016 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) for the Community Development Block Grant program and the HOME Investment Partnership program for the period from August 1, 2016 to July 31, 2017.  In order to qualify for federal funds, the City of Eau Claire must file these reports with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

 

A draft copy of the report is available at the City of Eau Claire Housing Division, 203 South Farwell Street, Eau Claire or at the City of Eau Claire’s website 2016 Draft CAPER. Citizens are invited to submit comments to the City of Eau Claire Housing Division, City Hall, P.O. Box 1186, Eau Claire, WI  54702-1186, or call Jennifer Frueh at (715) 839-6108 prior to October 15, 2017, or attend Staff Public Hearings on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. or 3:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber of City Hall, or Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. in the North Conference Room of City Hall, 203 South Farwell Street, Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

 

The hearing impaired may contact this office by voice TDD at (715) 839-4943.  If there are other specialized needs due to handicap, i.e. sign language interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, reader, please contact this office.

CDBG Awards Process for the City of Eau Claire

The CDBG Grant Year operates on an August 1st to July 31st calendar. In order to be prepared for an August 1st start, the sub-recipient application process generally begins in January and ends with the awards being announced in late May or early June.
