Purpose/Goals

To assure that the public is adequately protected from injury or the spread of disease when using or occupying body art facilities. 

Program Description
License and inspect all body art facilities for overall safety and sanitary conditions. License all body art practitioners. Enforce state and local regulations governing these facilities. Provide consultation to facility operators and the public on preventing health and safety hazards with operating or using these facilities.

 

NO PERSON UNDER THE AGE OF 18 MAY BE TATTOOED

  • IMPORTANT NOTE: Currently, the State Health Department and the Eau Claire City-County Health Department do not recognize this association with regards to licensing. Always contact the State and Local Health Department to ensure that the body piercer you are looking at has been properly licensed.
Massage Parlors

Purpose/Goals

To assure that the public is adequately protected from injury or the spread of disease when using or occupying massage therapy facilities. 

 

Program Description
License and inspect above-noted facilities for overall safety and sanitary conditions. Enforce local regulations governing these facilities. Provide consultation to facility operators and the public on preventing health and safety hazards with operating or using these facilities.
Massage parlors must be inspected at least annually by the Health Department. The physical facilities; such as toilet rooms, square footage, lighting, furnishings, linens and clothing, are inspected by this Department. Massage therapists are licensed and regulated through the State of Wisconsin.
