Our awareness campaign More Kids Drug Free happens annually as a way to get the message out of all that the Alliance members, volunteers, and community partners do to prevent alcohol, tobacco and other drug use among Eau Claire County youth.
The Eau Claire City-County Health Department, through the Alliance and Wisconsin Wins, conducts ongoing alcohol and tobacco compliance checks in accordance with Wisconsin law that prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products to underage people. In collaboration with the Eau Claire Police Department, Alcohol & Tobacco Seller Trainings are also held twice per year. We want to help community businesses achieve zero underage sales! Life of an Athlete (LOA) was selected by the Alliance based on local data and its proven effectiveness. The LOA Program created by John Underwood, includes research on the impact of alcohol and marijuana, sports nutrition, recovery, and sleep on athletes. It also calls special attention to a Stanford University study about the negative impact of alcohol on the teen brain.
Members of the Alliance also work on many other projects that have a positive impact in Eau Claire County!
