Youth from every high school across Eau Claire County influence their peers and inspire adults by working together to make a positive difference in their schools and their communities.
Members of SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) at all Eau Claire County high schools (Altoona, Augusta, Fall Creek, Eau Claire-Memorial, Eau Claire-North and Regis) work with the Alliance to reduce underage drinking, tobacco use, prescription drug misuse and other drug abuse. These youth activists are dedicated to preventing destructive decision-making among their peers. Throughout the year, youth design and carry out activisms to increase awareness of the risks of underage drinking and other destructive decisions.
At the beginning of every school year, a county-wide training is sponsored by the Alliance that empowers youth with the knowledge and skills necessary to become agents for change in their schools and community as peer educators and activists for prevention.
YAB (Youth Advocacy Board)
Eau Claire County YAB is the leadership group of SADD with 1-3 representatives from each of the six Eau Claire County high schools. YAB meets once a month for countywide communication, collaboration and activism planning. The Alliance Youth Advocacy Adviser provides direction and guidance to both YAB and SADD members.
