The Elections Office is located in the First Floor Customer Service Area. The Elections Office is responsible for voter registration, absentee voting, establishing and preparing voting places, and assigning and training election officials.

2012 ELECTION DATES
Recall Election - June 5, 2012
In-person absentee voting begins on May 21 and runs through June 1, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. (NOTE: City Hall will be closed on Monday, May 28, in observance of Memorial Day.) Registered voters can also submit a written request that an absentee ballot be mailed to them.

ELECTION OFFICIALS
The City of Eau Claire is always looking for citizens to work at the polls during elections. Election officials (poll workers) register new voters, give voters credit in the poll books those who vote, answer questions, hand out and explain ballots, and work with ballot counting equipment. Training sessions are held before each election. Currently, poll workers are paid $8.00/hour, including the training sessions. The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. A full day for most workers lasts from approximately 6:00 a.m to 10 p.m. Some poll workers do work half day shifts, either from opening to 2 p.m. or from 2 p.m. to closing. Notice is hereby given that information regarding the number of provisional ballots and outstanding absentee ballots for the May 8, 2012 Recall Primary will be posted on the City of Eau Claire website www.eauclairewi.gov and in the City Elections office on the first floor of City Hall, 203 S Farwell Street, Eau Claire WI 54701.
