City of Eau Claire Adopts Innovative Public Engagement Platform

Post Date:11/10/2017 9:24 AM

The City of Eau Claire is excited to announce the launch of Polco, an innovative public engagement platform where residents can directly influence the community decision making process. Polco will be used to provide residents an opportunity to provide feedback during the Chippewa Valley Future Regions project. The Future Regions project uses a process called strategic foresight to analyze the current state of the region’s creative economy and prioritize opportunities and plans over the next 20 years.

During the Future Regions project, questions will be posted directly to residents regarding the creative economy. The feedback will be used to drive the decision making process during the project. By increasing civic engagement through web-based polling, there is an opportunity to connect with Eau Claire residents at their convenience and gather feedback to collectively move policy forward. The City of Eau Claire values community knowledge and is committed to improving communication channels to impact change. The City of Eau Claire is dedicated to sharing polling results and to explain policy decisions made during the course of the Future Regions project.

Residents become active users by visiting and creating an account. Polco’s platform is available via web, mobile, email, and any place Polco e-ballots are found online. Please note that the service is free to all constituents.

Polco is committed to a strict privacy policy where they only share aggregated results that do not facilitate identification of respondents. Detailed participant data and votes are never shared.

About Polco: Polco is a platform designed to increase civic engagement, improve government transparency, and inform municipal governments of constituency feedback to better guide public policy. For more information about Polco, please visit
